Brief Profile

Dr. Lakshmi Rani Takkellapati is a prominent Critical Care Consultant and Anaesthesiologist in Visakhapatnam. Having worked as a Critical care consultant for 12 years, she has gained knowledge and expertise in the field. As an anaesthetist, she began her career in England in 1994 and continued working as an SHO, Registrar (FTTA), staff grade, and associate specialist until 2004. Following her return to India in 2005, she has worked in private corporate hospitals as a consultant in Anaesthesia & Intensive Care. Besides that, she worked as a locum consultant for DRI, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and many other areas in England for a short period every year ( 2 months). From 2011 through 2017, she worked as a locum consultant. In 2015, she had her annual appraisals and GMC Revalidation done. 

The department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at CARE Hospitals has postgraduate trainees (DNB and IDCCM). She oversees their training and is an approved teacher. The department and hospital hold regular academic sessions, mortality and morbidity meetings (network transmissions between the branches of CARE Hospitals around the country), and audit meetings. 

Anaesthetic and critical care CMEs and conferences are frequently attended by her in India. She received her ATLS certificate from the American College of Surgeons in September 2013 in New Delhi. 

As a faculty member, she regularly attends regional and national anaesthesia and critical care conferences and workshops.
